Unicon Corporation made the following notes about this variable:
See Appendix Y for discussion of income threshold effects on low-income items. In 1982-1985, the maximum value is described as '1999 or more received'. It is unclear whether the other years have been similarly topcoded. In 1994 forward, the documentation states the range is 0-1999, but tabulations indicate the topcodes as high as 7500.
