Employment status recode (a.k.a. labor force status recode) - 1989-2024
Unicon Corporation made the following notes about this variable:
WARNING - Although the documentation in 1994 clearly states that this variable is on the file (values intended match the 1995+ coding), tabulations produce only '0' values. The Census confirmed that they had intended to have this variable on the file but it never made it there. They do not plan to reissue the data to correct this. See mlr as an alternative.
