Description
UCSUPFLG identifies whether a respondent was eligible to receive the Unemployment Compensation Supplement, and if so, whether they were interviewed.
Comparability
Apart from changes in the supplement universe (see Unemployment Compensation Supplement notes), this variable is comparable for all available years.
Universe
- 1989-1990: Civilians age 15 or older in month-in-samples 4 or 8 who were unemployed and had ever worked
- 2005: Civilians age 16 or older in month-in-samples 4 or 8 who were on layoff, unemployed and looking but had ever worked, or not in the labor force (but not due to retirement or disability) and worked in the past 12 months
- 2018: Civilians age 16 or older who were on layoff, unemployed and looking for work, or not in labor force and had not stated they did no work in the past 12 months
