TRCTYPLY indicates whether the respondent's TRICARE health insurance policy covered a family, the policyholder and one other person, or the policyholder only last year.
TRICARE, formerly known as CHAMPUS, provides civilian health benefits for U.S. armed forces personnel, military retirees, and their dependents. Beginning in 2019, TRICARE is considered private coverage.
