Description
PAIDEMP1 reports if the self-employed respondent has paid employees in their first job.
Comparability
In all available samples the empirical universe for PAIDEMP1 differs from the stated universe in the codebooks. All respondents are from month-in-samples 4 and 8, rather than 3 and 4 as stated in the documentation. In samples from January 2020 through January 2021, persons classed as "incorporated self-employed" are not included in PAIDEMP1.
