OFFPOV is the official poverty classification used for replicating official poverty rates. OFFPOV differs from POVERTY in that it corrects for errors in the POVERTY variable. The main difference between OFFPOV and POVERTY is that OFFPOV only assigns a poverty classification to those persons in the poverty universe. Other differences are explained in the "Differences between OFFPOV and POVERTY" section of the Replicating Official Poverty note.
