Marketplace health insurance plans are obtained through healthcare.gov or through equivalent state-run online marketplaces.

Health insurance exchanges, or online marketplaces where one can purchase private health insurance, were established in all U.S. states by the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (commonly referred to as the ACA).
