Description
For persons who lived in a different residence 5 years ago (MIGRATE5), MIG5CITYST reports the principal city status of the person's residence five years ago, including whether they lived in the principal city of a metropolitan CBSA or in the territory within a metropolitan CBSA that is not designated as "principal city", also known as the balance.
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) definition of metropolitan is a Core-Based Statistical Area (CBSA) that includes the counties and location of an urbanized area with at least 50,000 people.
