Description
MHMAR1ENDM indicates the month in which the respondent's first marriage ended.
Comparability
MHMAR1ENDM is limited to ever-married women in all available samples, except for 1980 where ever-married men are included.
In 1980 and 1990, the MHMAR1ENDM variable includes women who have been married only once. These women also have values for "month of termination of last marriage" (MHMARLENDM); for these cases, values for MHMAR1ENDM and MHMARLENDM are the same. In 1995, women who have been married only once are in-universe only for MHMARLENDM.
