Description
MHAGETERM1 indicates the respondent's age in months at the termination of the first marriage.
Comparability
Men are included in MHAGETERM1 in the 1980 sample only.
In 1995, the universe becomes even more restricted. In this sample, a woman needed to be married two or more times and their first marriage must have ended in divorce to be in-universe for MHAGETERM1.
In 1980 and 1990, the MHAGETERM1 variable includes women who have been married only once. These women also have values for "age at termination of last marriage" (MHAGETERML); for these cases, values for MHAGETERM1 and MHAGETERML are the same. In 1995, women who have been married only once are in-universe only for MHAGETERML.
