Description
MARBASECIDH is an IPUMS-CPS created ID for merging household records from the ASEC to their corresponding data on the March Basic file. MARBASECIDH is only useful for linking within a given year. Users should note that while MARBASECIDH is created for all households, only households that responded to the CPS are linked by IPUMS. For more information, see Flood and Pacas, 2017 and Flood et al., 2020.
Comparability
The methodology for generating MARBASECIDP differs before and after 1989. For more information on the 1976-1988 period, see Flood et al., 2020; for more information on 1989 forward, see Flood and Pacas, 2017.
