Description

JTYPE identifies the type of private business the respondent is currently employed in.

This variable is part of the Job Tenure Supplement.

Users should note that there are a number of cases that are coded as NIU though they meet the documented universe characteristics. In each of these observations, JTCLASS is also NIU, so it could be that JTYPE requires a valid entry into JTOCC to be in universe.
