This variable is not available for any of the currently selected samples.
FSSPDLES indicates how much less money the household could spend per week and still meet basic household food requirements. This question is asked of households that indicated they could spend less for food (FSSPDML).
FSSPDLES is only available until 2014. For a variable available 2015+ as well as harmonized backwards in time, see FSSPDLESC.
This variable is part of the Food Security Supplement.
With the exception of topcode changes and universe changes, this variable is comparable over available years. In 2011, a topcode of $175 was introduced (prior to 2011 there was no topcode). In 2012, the topcode is $150. In 2013 and 2014, the topcode is $200. From 2010, group quarters households are not asked this question.
