Description
EDVOCA indicates whether or not a person is currently enrolled in a training program other than regular school or on-the-job training including business, vocational, technical, trade, or correspondence courses. Prior to 2006, the question wording also included "secretarial" in the types of training considered.
This variable is part of the Education Supplement
Universe
- Oct 1987-1988: Persons ages 14+ who are not in school or persons who are enrolled in college
- Oct 1989+: Persons ages 15+ who are not in school or persons who are enrolled in college
