Description

CINETHH indicates whether or not someone in the household accesses the internet from home.

This variable is part of the Computer Internet Supplement.

Comparability

In 2001 and 2003 this question was only asked of respondents, whose answers were then attributed to the rest of the household residents. Therefore, the universe statement only pertains to the respondent. The variable is otherwise comparable.

Universe

  • Dec 1998 and Aug 2000: All households with a computer or WebTV.
  • Sep 2001 and Oct 2003: Civilian respondents age 3+.
  • Oct 2007 and Oct 2009: All households where respondent accesses the internet from any location.
  • Oct 2010: All households where respondent uses some sort of computer.
