CIEMAIL indicates whether or not a respondent uses Email.

This variable is part of the Computer Internet Supplement.

In 1998 and 2000 the question specifically asks if a person REGULARLY uses Email, other years do not specify regular use.

Researchers should note universe changes between samples.

Oct 1997: Civilians age 3 or older who use a computer connected to the internet at home.
Dec 1998, Aug 2000, Sep 2001, and Oct 2003: Civilians age 3 or older who use the internet.
Jul 2011: Civilians age 3 or older who used the internet in the last year.
Oct 2012: Civilians age 3 or older who are the primary respondent for a household in which someone uses the internet.
Jul 2013: Randomly selected civilian in MISH 2-4 or 6-8, age 15 or older, who uses the internet.
2015+: Randomly selected civilian, age 3 or older.
