This variable is part of the Computer Internet Supplement.

Comparability

This question was only asked of persons who were currently enrolled in school in samples from 2001 onward. The 2001 sample was also not asked of persons over 60. This variable is otherwise comparable across available years.

Universe

  • 1984-1997: Civilians age 3 or older who use a computer at home
  • 2001: Civilians aged 3-60 who are enrolled in or attending regular school and use a computer at home
  • 2003: Civilians age 3 or older who are enrolled in or attending school and use a computer at home.
