Description

AWWGWRK08 indicates whether the respondent who did farm work during the current year did farm work in August of that year.

Comparability

In samples prior to 1985, only those 14+ were included in questions regarding paid farm work. Beginning in 1985, children 8 to 13 years old were included in these questions. In 1985 and 1987, those who did unpaid farm work are also included.

Universe

  • Dec 1977, Dec 1979, Dec 1981, and Dec 1983: Persons 14+ who did any farm work for cash wages or salary even for one day.
  • Dec 1985 and Dec 1987: Persons 8+ who did any farm work even for one day.
