Description

For farm wage workers who also did non-farm work, AWNONFRMDYS indicates the number of days during the current year the respondent did non-farm work.

Comparability

In samples prior to 1985, only those 14+ were included in questions regarding paid farm work. Beginning in 1985, children 8 to 13 years old were included in these questions. In 1985 and 1987, those who did unpaid farm work are also included.

Universe

  • Dec 1977, Dec 1979, Dec 1981, and Dec 1983: Persons 14+ who did any farm work for cash wages or salary even for one day who also did nonfarm work.
  • Dec 1985 and Dec 1987: Persons 14+ who did any farm even for one day who also did nonfarm work.
